Ok, we swear we didn't plan it like this but it is WAY too perfect that this bonus one-on-one about Federico Fellini's ultra-meta 9th film is the 9th episode of this podcast. Hannah goes deep into why she deems this a perfect film and long-time favorite of hers, while Sharilyn shares her first impressions and shows off her Italian accent. Che bellissima! It gets cerebral, psychological, and ~dreamy~.

Greetings Earthlings. In today's episode, we're talking about aliens, Speilburg, Tom Cruise, and the end of humanity. Hannah and Sharilyn dissect the alien design in both the 2005 and 1953 versions of War of the Worlds. Then we're joined by writer and sci-fi expert Cody Ziglar and we discuss what we would do differently if we were to make our very own apocalyptic films. Most importantly, we theorize about why pants were indestructible in this film.

Sit down and strap in for our first hate-watch episode! Brace yourselves because we really are talking about 50 Shades of Grey, consent, WAP's, kinks, and the good, bad, and ugly side of education. We have a very special and cool guest, Dr. Devon Price, a social psychologist doing all sorts of research in NYC. She joins us in this -positive episode to talk about how we can rid ourselves of that nasty shame around and all the good (and pleasure) that doing so can bring! Enjoy responsibly. ;)

Time for a stroll down memory lane in this episode with special guest Jessica Clemons! The (film) Society dissects the visual style of the film and gets hella existential when discussing Kayla's character arc. This episode also goes deep into 2000s childhood from cringe-worthy Paul Frank diaries to Hannah's favorite Missy Elliot music video, and we answer once and for all who made vampires popular first. Grab some bagel bites and go back in time with us.

We're picking up with co-director Cristina Costantini right where we left off with Kareem. Both Sharilyn and Hannah get inspired hearing about Cristina's journey into the world of documentary feature filmmaking. Get stoked for more behind-the-scenes insights into what it took to get the film made on a shoestring budget and indulge in many of Cristina's fond and funny memories of her time working with the one and only Walter Mercado.

Wednesday Feb 03, 2021

This week, we're getting glamorously spiritual and celebrating Latin astrology icon Walter Mercado! Sharilyn reminisces about growing up with Walter on the television and Hannah shares her first impressions of this beloved legend. The society has a chat with Kareem Tabsch, one of the two directors on the documentary, and dive into how the stars aligned to make this movie, as well as Kareem's favorite moment with Walter. Lots of good vibes and mucho mucho amor to go around.
